Bio
Phil Lelyveld launched and manages the Consumer 3D Experience Lab at USC School of Cinematic Art’s Entertainment Technology Center. The Lab, which is funded by the CTOs of the six major Hollywood studios and others, addresses stereoscopic 3D in the home, on personal devices, in public spaces, in advertising, and in theatres. He gives regular lectures on the art, technology, business, and health aspects of stereoscopic 3D to studio executives and technologists, as well as graduate students at USC, UCLA, and Woodbury University. He also advises clients on business and technical aspects of 3D production, distribution, and display.
Mr. Lelyveld is an Entertainment Technology Business Development consultant whose recent work includes a second annual report on future business opportunities for the Post Production Industry, and the Future of Museums in the Digital Age. He has significant expertise in the technical, legal, and business issues associated with the production, distribution, and monetization of content and services, which he acquired during his 10 years as the VP Digital Industry Relations within Disney’s corporate New Technology and New Media strategy group.
Phil has degrees from UCLA (MBA), Stanford (MS Geophysics), and Tufts (BS Engineering). He is a frequent panelist and public speaker at media-related events, including the Sundance Film Festival, 3D Entertainment Summit, Dutch Media Hub, Seoul Digital Forum, Digital Policy Summit, NAB, Digital Hollywood, E3, and the TeleManagement Forum.
